Drawing

CHERRY — The Bureau County Mounted Search and Rescue organization will hold a drawing for a replica rifle at its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Cherry Supper Club. The public is welcome to attend the drawing.

Dinner and meeting

DEPUE — The DePue/Bureau County Democrats will be having its Christmas dinner/ meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the DePue VFW Hall. Members and their guest are invited.

Collection planned

PRINCETON — The H.C.E. of Bureau County is collecting school supplies for several schools in the county. A donation box will be placed at the Prouty Building during the cooking walk on Dec. 4-5. There is also a collection box at the Becker Building at 850 Thompson St. in Princeton.

Toy collection

PRINCETON — The Christian Motorcyclist Association will collect new, unwrapped toys during the Princeton Lion’s Club Christmas parade on Dec. 5. Toys may be placed in the toy sleigh along the parade route. All toys collected will be distributed at the Bureau County United Way’s Christmas for Kids Toy Store on Dec. 12 and will help provide a brighter holiday for 182 Bureau County families in need of assistance. Blood drive

PRINCETON — The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will hold a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 9 in the fourth floor multi-purpose room of Perry Memorial Hospital. Donors who last gave blood on or before Oct. 14 are eligible. Donors must be 16 years old, in good health, and weigh at least 110 pounds. A blood donor card or other photo I.D. is required to donate; 16-year-old donors must present a signed parental consent form. To donate, call Alecia Weber at (815) 876-2254.

DAR meeting

PRINCETON — The Princeton-Illinois chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Princeton Public Library. Members will tour the library. The meeting will follow at 1:30 p.m. The program will be the “Christmas Tree Ship.” Hostesses for the day are Nedda Simon, chairman; Marcia Hudson, Patricia Polson and Gloria Winslow.

CHILLICOTHE — The Tri-City Women’s Connection will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Grecian Gardens in Chillicothe. The cost is $11 inclusive. Childcare is available by reservation only. Ed and Carol Dutton will talk about the Love-in-Action Food Pantry. Bring a non-perishable item to donate. Donna Heimbaugh will speak on “Passport for Life.” Reservations are needed by Dec. 9 and can be made by calling Elaine at (309) 274-4563 or Herta at (309) 364-3438.

Raffle planned

OHIO — The Ohio Park Playground Committee will hold a raffle for a Case IH peddle tractor or American Girl Doll of the Year-Chrissa. Tickets are being sold at Citizens First State Bank in Ohio through Friday. The winner will be contacted following the drawing.

Fundraiser set

OHIO — The Ohio Public Library will hold a fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 5, selling Schwan items, in the parking lot across from the library. A portion of the sales will be donated to the library.

Craft walk

GENOA — The 35th annual Genoa-Kingston Christmas craft walk will be held Thursday through Saturday at 10 locations with 75-plus crafters. Maps are available at www.genoamainstreet.org. For more information, call (815) 784-2793.
