Sisler to celebrate 80th birthday

Bill Sisler of Ohio, Ill., will celebrate this 80th birthday today, Saturday.

Bill was born Dec. 5, 1929, in Princeton, Ill. He was the eldest of three boys (Bill, Ed, Richard) born to Anna and George L. Sisler. After high school, he graduated from Iowa State University. Before managing Sisler’s Dairy, which his father started in 1908, he served as a tank commander in the Korean War.

Active in the community, he volunteered his time as mayor and fireman for many years. He is a member of the Ohio United Methodist Church, Rock River Restorers Antique Car Club and Green River Country Club.

He has four children, Carmen (Bob) Sissel, Kathy (Mike) McGinley, Karen (Jim) Anderson and Bill Sisler Jr.  He also has four grandchildren, Vanessa Sissel, Tieg Sisler, Lucas Sisler and Annette McGinley; and two great-grandchildren, Audrey and Levi.
