LADD — The visiting LaSalle-Peru boys’ and girls’ bowling teams made a clean sweep of host Hall Monday night at Ladd Lanes, with the L-P boys’ squad claiming a 3,399-3,093 victory, and the Lady Cavs pulling out a 2,933-2,144 win.

L-P’s Kyle Pisano had a hot hand early for the Cavaliers, turning in games of 257 and 245, before cooling off with a third-set 191. The Cavs’ ace finished on top of all bowlers with a 693 series.

Sophomore Austin Pelszynski led the way for the Red Devils, registering games of 204, 213, and 180 to finish with series score of 597.

“I was pretty proud of my scores, but I was going for a 600 series and I got a 597,” said Pelszynski. “I was feeling pretty good today until that last game where I didn’t break 200.”

Also scoring for the Red Devils were Brett Herrmann (549), Tony Padgett (533), Kyle Mitchell (486). Colin Piccatto turned in two games, a 147 and 155, combining with the one-game effort of Matt Eilers (104).

Tori Buczkowski was high roller for the Lady Cavs, finishing with games of 196, 180, and 199 for a series total of 575.

Lady Devil captain, and high scorer Staci Roberts was not too happy with her team-leading series of 414.

“I only hit my average one game,” said Roberts. “I just didn’t have enough concentration and wasn’t hitting my mark.”

“She’s having a hard time getting to the pocket,” said Hall coach Monica Hrovat, “but she started to come out of it a little bit.”

Erin Cissell (388), Cherokee Gillispie (366), Kelsey Huslam (354), and Missy Krolack (284) rounded out the series scores for Hall.

Despite not picking up the win, Hrovat said that she was glad to see the improvement her first-year team has made since the beginning of their year, as they bowled their second home meet.

“Most of the kids are bowling a lot better, I’m really happy with that,” Hrovat said.

L-P boys’ coach Bob Stubler said that he was happy with how his boys responded to bowling away from the familiar confines of the Super Bowl in Peru.
