Mr. and Mrs. Richard Haas of Ohio, Ill., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house, hosted by their children, from 2 to 5 p.m. Dec. 27 in Fellowship Hall at the Van Orin Gospel Church in Van Orin. Richard Haas and the former Carol Barkman were married Dec. 26, 1959, in the Van Orin Gospel Church by the Rev. Avian Habeggar (deceased). They are the parents of four daughters, Gwen (Ken) Luck of Spring Valley, Amanda (Scott) Landwehru of Naperville, Gloria (Chad) May of Princeton and Andrea (Rodney) Richards of Morton. They also have six grandchildren, Garrett and Jenna Luck, Hallie and McCaela May, and Abigail and Riley Richardson. Richard farmed for more 40 years and has driven a motorcoach for 25 years. He’s presently employed by Cheeseman Coaches Inc. in Milledgeville. Carol is a school bus driver for the LaMoille District for 23 years and retired as an aide after 11 years for the district.
