Albert Untz
LAMOILLE — Albert John Untz, 78, of LaMoille died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born Aug. 15, 1931, in Compton to George and Helen Untz, he married Darlene Bonnell Feb. 19, 1955, in Sublette. She survives.
He was the owner of Untz Truck and Trailer Repair in Peru for 27 years with his son Bruce. He served with the 11th Airborne.
He attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Arlington and was a member of the Mendota Moose Lodge.
Also surviving are two sons, Bruce of LaSalle and Keith (Vickie) of Amboy; two brothers, Leo (Marge) Untz of Springfield, Mo., and Robert (Pauline) Untz of Hanna City; one sister, Bernice (Robert) Oliver of Arizona City, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Chris (Rachel) Untz of Franklin Grove, and Danielle Untz and Jeremy Untz, both of LaSalle; one great-grandchild, Ian Untz of Franklin Grove; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Jr. and Norm Lee; and one sister, Dorothy.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Paul Meismer officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
