James Bezely

SPRING VALLEY — James E. Bezely, 76, of 17 Emily Drive, Spring Valley, died at 10:35 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley after an extended illness.

Born Dec. 12, 1933, in DePue to Clifford and Ethel (Mitchell) Bezely, he married Louise Martinez July 16, 1955, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in DePue. She survives.

He was a truck driver for Yellow Freight, retiring in 1993. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. He was a graduate of DePue High School.

He was a member of the DePue Congregational United Church of Christ, DePue VFW, DePue Men’s Club and Teamster’s Local 722.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mary Jane (Rick Pirog) Troglio of Granville; four sons, James (Lisa) Bezely and Mark (Andrea Rolando) Bezely, both of Spring Valley, Joseph (Rhonda) Bezely of Ladd and David (Kim) Bezely of Ladd; two brothers, Robert (Phyllis) Bezely of Potomac and Dennis (Marian) Bezely of DePue; two sisters, Vivian Ramirez and Jane Ann (William) Struglinski, both of DePue; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at DePue Congregational United Church of Christ with Pastor Sue Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church.
