William Evans

PRINCETON — William Douglas Evans, 75, of Princeton died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Liberty Village of Princeton after a long battle with cancer.
Born May 26, 1934, in Princeton to George and Dorothy (Moran) Evans, he married Mary Louise Smith Nov. 28, 1952, in Iowa City, Iowa. She died March 14, 2001. He later married Laurie McFadden Feb. 19, 2005. She survives.
He graduated from Princeton High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He was retired from the City of Princeton Electrical Department.
He was a life-long member of the Elks, and a member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion.
Also surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth “Beth” Taylor of Ohio, Ill., Patricia (David) Brussee of Michigan and Georgeann ”Annie” (Richard) Nielsen of Kansas; one stepson, James McFadden of Michigan; one stepdaughter-in-law, Phyllis (the late Frank) McFadden of California; 15 grandchildren, Krystle (Travis) Schier and Kaleb Hermeyer, both of Ohio, Ill.; Gabriel (Sabrina) Andriotis of Monroe, Wis., Heather (Billy) Whitfield of Engelhard, N.C., Garth Gower and Nate Brussee, Eric Brussee and Sarah Brussee, all of Kalamazoo, Mich., Jonathan (Heather) Freeman Fort Sill, Okla., Charlotte Freeman of Wichita, Kan., Michael Gibson of Pretty Prairie, Kan., Amy Brussee of Chicago, Kyle McFadden of Iowa, and Kevin McFadden and Ryan McFadden, both of California; and six great-grandchildren, Jadon Andriotis, Garrett Andriotis, Nora Andriotis, Brady Schier, Keifer Freeman and Jonathan Robert Freeman.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Jeffery Stirniman officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be directed to St. Louis Catholic Church or the Bureau County Fair Board.
