Ladd Village Board 12-8

LADD — The Ladd Village Board conducted the following business at its Dec. 8 meeting:

• Heard from Village Engineer Larry Good that the village has qualified to apply for a $350,000.00 CDAP Infrastructure Construction grant. The funds would be used for water main rehabilitation work. The project must be designed with a construction permit in hand by Feb. 19. The board authorized Good to proceed with the required design work.

• Authorized Good to send a response letter to the Illinois EPA for the recent well disinfection by-production violation and authorized TEST, Inc. to perform a series of bench tests on wells Nos. 2 and 3.

• Witnessed Police Chief Bill Gaefcke present Eric Ott with a certificate of completion for part-time law enforcement from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.

• Approved holiday bonuses of $100 for full-time employees and $30 for part-time employees.

• Accepted the 2010 maintenance agreement for the warning sirens with Braniff Communications for $1,133.

• Accepted the 2010 maintenance agreement for vegetation spraying at the lagoons with Spring Green for $935.95.

• Heard a reminder that it is illegal to park on Main Street following a 2-inch snowfall.

• Commended Chairman Sandy Galetti and the Ladd Community Improvement Association for a successful Christmas Walk.

• Announced a meeting with be scheduled in 2010 with representatives from the Peoria Diocese and Village officials. The village has proposed acquiring St. Benedict’s Parish Hall for a community center.

• Heard of the receipt of an award from the Illinois Valley Center for Independent Living for making the village more accessible for everyone. Handicapped accessible ramps were recently installed at the American Legion and Post Office.
