Colon cancer awareness event benefits BCHWC

Get Your Rear in Gear organizer Kathy Martin (from right) presents Jean Babcock, director of the Bureau County Health and Wellness Clinic (BCHWC), with a check for $15,000 Wednesday while Get Your Rear in Gear Board member Dr. Mike Morrow and BCHWC Board Vice President Tim Muntz watch the presentation. The funds were part of the proceeds from Martin’s 5K run/walk held in May 2012 to fight colon cancer. Babcock said the funds would be used to educate new and existing patients about colon cancer. For more information on this year’s event, which will be held May 25, contact Martin at kmartingyrig@hotmail.com/.
