Friends of Strays fundraiser

LAMOILLE — Friends of Strays will hold its annual drawdown April 13 at the LaMoille Lions Club. Tickets are $40 per couple and include a chicken, pasta and beef dinner.  There will be a silent auction and everyone attending will receive a prize. Two hundred tickets will be sold and first prize is $1,500. It is not necessary to be present to win the money. Tickets are available at the shelter in Princeton or by calling 815-872-7387.

MOPS fundrasier for Pantry

PRINCETON — For those with no time for a garage sale, MOPS will take the items off your hands. The Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) Moms-Helping-Moms Pantry is accepting donations to help with their annual rummage sale April 19-20 at the Pantry, 1221 N. Main St., Princeton (at the back of Landmark Realty). Donations can be dropped off at the Pantry during normal hours of operation, Tuesdays from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 to11:30 a.m. (No furniture, please.) All proceeds from the sale go towards restocking the pantry with essentials for infants and children. For larger donations or further information, contact Elizabeth Arkels at 815 878-9145.

Tops change time

PRINCETON — Tops IL0587, Princeton has moved the time of their Monday night meetings at the Bureau County Senior Center. Weigh-ins will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m. with the meeting from 5:30 to 6 p.m. New officers will begin April 1.

DAR to meet

PRINCETON — The Princeton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold its coffeetime meeting at 9:30 a.m. April 6 at the Prouty Community Building. Nancy Gillfillan will present the program "Who was Sara Gregg?", about a Civil War nurse. Hostesses are Barbara Peterson, Dolores, Dace, Laura Quinn and Elizabeth Mack. The Chapter will celebrate its 117 birthday April 13.
