SHEFFIELD — Friends of the Canal will hold its monthly “Hike the Canal” outing on June 10. This month’s hike will be from Bridge 41 to Lock 29. This hike is 3.7 miles in length and it has been named the “Woodchuck.”
PRINCETON — Folksinger Nels Andrews will perform at the Princeton Coffeehouse at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. This is the last show of the Coffeehouse’s 2011-2012 season.
GRAND DETOUR — The John Deere Historic Site has opened its gates to the public for its 48th season. Located in Grand Detour, the site is the original Illinois homestead of John Deere and is the location where he built his first “self-scouring” steel plow. The home Deere built still stands, and the Historic Site was designated a Registered National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service, and a Historic Landmark of Agricultural Engineering by the American Society of Agricultural Engineers.
LASALLE — Stage 212 has announced auditions for the children’s theater production, “Mulan, Jr.” will take place June 1 at 6 p.m. and June 2 at 1 p.m. (attend one) at the theater, 700 First St. in downtown LaSalle. A full production by kids, for kids, “Mulan, Jr.” is open to all children entering grades 4 through 10.
LASALLE — Stage 212 in LaSalle will offer a summer workshop, running June 18-22, for students entering grades 2 through 9.
