PRINCETON — The Bureau County Genealogy Society will meet at 7 p.m. May 23 at the Society library, 629 S. Main St. in Princeton.
PRINCETON — American Legion Post 125 of Princeton, along with VFW Post 4323, AMVETS Post 180 and American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Unit 125, will conduct Memorial Day services beginning at Oakland Cemetery at 8 a.m. From there the group will go to Elm Lawn Memorial Park and then to Dover Prairie Repose on Route 34 and lastly to the Malden Cemetery. Princeton DAR ladies will also conduct their services and ceremonies at the same time.

PRINCETON — The fifth annual wine and beer tasting event, sponsored by the American Red Cross of Bureau County, will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 14 at A Hundred Acre Orchard and Market. The event will include samples of beer and wine from around the country, appetizers from local food vendors and an art auction. LASALLE – Stage 212 in LaSalle is offering a summer workshop, running June 17-24, for students entering grades 2-8.
ARLINGTON — A fried chicken dinner, sponsored by Arlington Park and Shelter Project Committee, will be served from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bruno’s in Cherry. The dinner will include one-quarter fried chicken, fries and cole slaw. Carry-outs will be available and the cost is $7 per order. A bake sale and raffles will be offered. All proceeds benefit the Arlington park shelter project.
MANLIUS — The Committee for the Grand Reunion II of Manlius High School has announced the Bureau Valley High School Show Choir will perform at that event.
SPRING VALLEY — Fire Chief Emeritus Gene Scheri will present a program at the Spring Valley Historic Association Museum at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
