SPRING VALLEY — The Hall High School Spanish department rounded out homecoming week with some dance lessons on Sept. 19.
Spanish teachers Katie Lawrence and Kelsey DeSchepper thought the students could use some new moves to take to the dance the next night. This activity has become a tradition at Hall on Friday of homecoming week each year. As a department, they believe that teaching culture along with the language helps to make for a more well-rounded understanding of the Spanish-speaking world. Learning about the people, their traditions, and what makes them unique and special helps them to not only understand the language but it also helps to make our students global citizens. They want them to be tolerant, accepting and empathetic adults so teaching them about traditions, food and dance of other countries is their way of achieving that goal.
