BUDA — Family Science STEM Night was held Feb. 15 at Bureau Valley South in Buda. Students and adults had the experience at various stations on simple machines and energy. Presenters were Martin Engineering engineers Joe Michael and Travis Miller. They provided stations on Center of Gravity, Levers, Pulleys, air tube and Manometer, and Bernoulli’s Principle. The ESP Program and SMART Grids presented by Sherri Litherland provided a variety of stations on light, wind, and solar power. SMART grids provided a hands on experience with household usage of electricity. Some students also had their energy projects on display. BVS teachers and staff, along with Brainstorm staff, assisted with the stations. The program was brought to BVS by 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant, a partnership between the Bureau Henry Stark Regional Office of Education and Bureau Valley South.
