PRINCETON — American Legion Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton held a Valentine workshop on Feb. 14 at the post home. Nine ladies of the Auxiliary filled Valentine-themed treat sacks with candies, applesauce, special diet treats, chips, snack cakes and cupcakes.
On March 28, the Auxiliary conducted two workshops, one for Easter in March and one for April. Ten ladies filled Easter-themed gift bags with all sorts of treats, including special diet treats, snack crackers, popcorn, snack fruit pies, personal care items, plastic eggs filled with candies, white socks, Kleenex, oranges and cupcakes.
The ladies hold a workshop every month to fill treat sacks for the veterans in four nursing homes they support. Anyone interested in helping with the workshops should inquire about eligible membership with chairman Mariele Fisher at 815-646-4806 or attend any convened meeting at 10:15 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the post home, 1549 W. Peru St. in Princeton. Donations can be made by calling Clara Pease, VA&R chairman, at 815-872-0430 in the evenings.
