Work continued this week on the Walnut Ridge Wind Farm north of Manlius, as the first turbine was set in place atop a tower by a towering crane. Favorable weather provided picturesque views as the first tower and turbine were carefully assembled. By the time the project is completed, 106 towers and turbines will have been built across 14,000 acres of land in parts of Manlius, Bureau, Greenville, Walnut and Ohio townships. The developer is BHE Renewables, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy based in Des Moines, Iowa.
