Wide variety of items on new Ohio restaurant’s menu
OHIO — Oscar and Sandy Gonzalez Jr. recently opened G-Dogs at 303 N. Main St. in the village of Ohio.
“This is a great little town,” she said. “They have been very, very nice to us. They have been very supportive.”
G-Dogs has 12- to 20-inch Chicago-style pizzas, 10 different varieties of hot dogs, hamburgers made fresh to order, and Chicago Italian beef.
“We are famous for giant burritos,” she added. “There is no Chicago-style pizza within 15 miles of Ohio.”
G-Dogs’ number one seller on its menu is tacos (steak and beef).
G-Dogs’ hours are from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
G-Dogs will cater parties as well as deliver for elderly customers who can’t get out or others.
The phone number for those wanting food delivered to their home is 815-310-0899.
Sandy’s parents moved to the Ohio area from Glendale Heights. They used to run a pizza place before moving to Bureau County. Sandy and Oscar then moved to the village of Ohio.
The building now housing G-Dogs had been empty for eight years before the couple bought it to open this family-run business.
