TRIUMPH — The Waltham Curling Club competed Dec 27 for the Midwest Curling Association U18 Regional Playdowns.
The Waltham girls junior curling team consisting of Mae Hagenbuch, Genevieve Salander, Bella Hagenbuch, and Liberty Salander went undefeated in the round robin and will represent the MCA in the 2019 U18 Junior National Championship.
The Waltham boys junior team of Max Salander, Logan Brandner, Aaron Reddin, Mason Videgar, and Dagan Setchell were runners-up and will serve as the U18 alternate boys team for the MCA.
The Midwest Curling Association covers all the curling clubs in Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri. To determine who would represent the Midwest Curling Association at nationals, teams played a round robin. Twelve girls and 12 boys teams from the other regional competitions around the nation will compete from March 12-17 at the Chaska Curling Center in Minnesota.
