It was a good weekend for the Princeton junior wrestling program.
Three Logan Junior High wrestlers medaled in the IESA State tournament in DeKalb, including a state champ — eighth-grader Augie Christiansen, who won his title match at 119-pounds by fall at 1:19.
Jesse Wright was the eight-grade 166-pound runner-up, falling 5-4 in the title match.
Logan’s Payne Miller, a seventh-grader, placed third at 275 pounds, winning the match in 3:17.
The Lions placed seventh as a team.
At the IKWF State Meet, Augustus Swanson, 10, placed eighth at 62 pounds.
“They had a great weekend, and I am very proud of what they were able to accomplish and excited for the future,” PHS coach Steve Amy said.
