Crossface89 regarding It takes three Tigers to tango
Ive been around TTT youth wrestling and have seen Earl, Logan and Ben all grow up thru the program and onto the High School program, i would just like to mention one thing before they move on to the Sectionals this Sat...i learned this some time ago and like to share ...At the end of the day those who battle thru all the pain, all the sweat and struggle find themselves surrounded by guys looking for the same thing. Dont wrestle NUMBERS FROM THE PAPER, who cares about state rankings who cares what reporters say should happen. Get on the mat and wrestle with some swagger, wrestle with PRIDE!!!

Mr. Doyle- did you ask this officer's supervisor what the agency policy/procedure/or standard practice would be if this happened to one of their own?? I am assuming, at a minimum, THAT OFFICER would be transported to the local hosipital and ANY ASSOCIATED bills would be ordered by a judge or paid for through some kind of mutual agreement. Did you ever speak with the State's Attorney about this, if so what was his recommendation? Returning to the scene should not invalidate Doyle's complaint. Perhaps this is a new officer- the question is who was his/her supervisor & how do they correct it??

If Mr Doyle was spit upon in the face this is a very serious matter not to be taken lightly. If the spit had landed in his eye or on his lips he runs the REAL possibility of being infected by the bodily fluids of the aggressor. These could include aids virus, hepatitis B, and bacterium Streptococcus to name a few. Spitting today is an assault with a deadly weapon. Mr Doyle see a doctor and a lawyer. Have both fill out complaints and then sue. Ask for a jury trial and note that symptoms may not develop right away. You should win financial award for future medical costs. Sue it's justice!

formerbulldog regarding Debating home rule
I do not have a stake in the Home Rule issue but I do believe it is counter-productive to turn a cold shoulder to those who do not live IN TOWN. Business owners as well as residents are required to make a community strong. Where those business owners live is secondary to where they do business, pay taxes, employ people, etc. This does not mean that home rule is a bad idea. this does not mean that a gas tax is a bad idea. It simply means: don't bite the hand that feeds you. A house devided can not stand.

livinginohio regarding Walnut approves wind turbine ordinance
Thank you Walnut Village Board. You spent a lot of time researching, listening to local residents before making your decision. You did a great job in protecting the residents in your area. Too bad you could not teach some of the Bureau County Board members how to listen, research, and make an informed decision such as you have. Thank you again!

Umm, did Mr. Doyle call the police because someone spit on him? Oh boy, sounds like hurt pride rather.

Joel Quiram regarding Debating home rule
I want to add, as to Harpo's comment, that our utility bills are going up. Electric rates this summer and next, and they are doing so because the council ignored rates for 16 some years. We're playing catch up out of necessity. Water rates and fees are going up this October. Why? We're building a 4 million gallon a day plant due to growth expectations. Numbers I've seen support no more than a 3 MGD plant. 0 new home permits in 2011 5 in 2010 7 in 2009 Rates and fees are going up, and they will go up further unless ideas are shared and solutions found for our future sewer problems.

Joel Quiram regarding Debating home rule
1) It is a fact that if we remain a NON-Home Rule community, and 2,3 or 5 years down the road, or longer, we suffer a sanitary sewer line collaspe, either our utility rates, or wastewater fees, or property taxes, or a mixture of all three will increase. Residents will subsidize the entire amount to repair. 2) Bill Smith, President of Beck Oil, agreed that if semis are counted, 70% of gas sold in Princeton is sold to non-residents. BTW, residents live IN TOWN. Home Rule is a solution. Maybe it's not THE solution. At least I'm putting something out there. How about you? Let's hear solutions.
