SPRING VALLEY — Marjorie Barto, 83, of 124 W. Cleveland St., Spring Valley, died at 6:49 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at her home after a five-year battle with cancer.

PRINCETON — Marion M. Dillon, 77, of Princeton died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Orchard View Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Princeton.

SPARTA — Christine "Shorty" Lafferty, 91, of Sparta died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Sparta Community Hospital.

HENNEPIN — Donald Joseph Kostellic, 80, of Hennepin died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, in Rochester, Minn.

LADD — Jasper Harold Oppy, 72, of 203 Hennepin St., Ladd, died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at his home.

SPRING VALLEY — Albert Rostello, 66, of 2 Oakdale Ave., Spring Valley, died at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at his home.

WESTMINSTER, Colo. — Helen M. Tinker, 94, of Westminster, Colo., formerly of Roseville, Ill., died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, in Thorton. Colo.

WYANET — John Eldon Allen, 73, of Wyanet passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at Perry Memorial Hospital with his loving wife and daughter by his side.

KEWANEE — Kenneth Paul Watts, 81, of Kewanee passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, in his home, with his loving wife by his side.

STERLING — George L. Sturtevant, 73, of Sterling, formerly of Walnut, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at his home.

NEWTON, Iowa — Dixon native Eustace K. “E.K.” Shaw, former chairman of the board of Shaw Newspapers, died Friday in Newton, Iowa, where he and his wife, Nancy, had lived the past 60 years. He was 84.

BUDA — Charles Henry White, 87, of Buda died at 9:57 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at his home.
