The advantages of funeral prearrangements

SPONSORED

At Norberg Memorial Home we have devoted our efforts to reach out to our community, both educating on funeral planning, as well as providing the benefits of having your wishes on file and prepaying funeral expenses. “By preplanning your funeral, you not only remove the burden from your loved ones but you ensure your life is celebrated according to your wishes,” says Janice Smallwood, who co-owns Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments, in Princeton, Illinois with her husband J.D.

Preneed consist of two components: preplanning your funeral and prefunding. For those who choose to prepay, the payments are placed in an insurance policy that you remain the owner of. “You can pay in full at the time of funding or make payments. Your money is secure and will move with you wherever you go. Norbergs guarantees the service and merchandise on pre-funded prearrangements, regardless of inflation those prices are locked in.” Janice assures.

“Whether you chose to prepay or not, let’s sit down together and put your wishes on file. We want to help your loved ones honor the life you lived according to your wishes,” says Janice. Some pre-need requests are as detailed as music, pallbearers, funeral officiate and more. “You can even write your own obituary, buy your headstone and have it preprinted with everything but the death date,” says Janice. While families are already grieving, they are often hard-pressed to remember the deceased’s social security number, birth city and state, and mom’s maiden name — information required for a death certificate “It just makes it a little bit easier on the family. We have a storage room with caskets, clothing, jewelry, makeup, nail polish and lipstick people have chosen for their funerals.” Let us help you get your loved ones through one of their hardest days.

Once a year Norberg hosts a free educational pre-need class with a funding specialist and estate attorney to answer all your questions. This class is usually takes place in April.
