TISKILWA — The Tiskilwa Historical Society will host Eric Taylor from Chicago in an hour of music to warm the heart and chase away the winter blues. The concert will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10.
As a goodwill gesture to the community, the historical society will be collecting food and funds and raising awareness for the Bureau Country Food Pantry.
A graduate of Columbia College, Taylor will be playing his original compositions as well as the music of “The Band, Elton John,” and even “The Pina Colada Song” upon request. The setting in the community room will be low-key and coffeehouse style, with Taylor singing as well as playing the acoustic guitar.
The historical society is continuing its tradition offering a concert with the “price of admission” being a non-perishable food item, paper product, soap or detergent to be donated to the Bureau County Food Pantry. Just inside the entrance door, a big red collection box will be waiting to be filled. In addition, for those who don’t care to tote a bag of food, a Valentine basket will also be available to accept cash donations.
After the program, the society will provide refreshments and host a social time in the galleries. Everyone is invited to join us for this afternoon of soothing music.
