Mildred Dean

PRINCETON — Mildred “Millie” Dean of Princeton died Wednesday, March 6, 2019, in Harlingen, Texas, following a brief illness.

Born Sept. 1, 1931, in Tiskilwa to Darlene Ropp and Joseph Jackson, she married Paul Dean on Nov. 18, 1951, in Tiskilwa. They were married for 44 years, with Paul passing in 1995. She later had a life partner, Max Halberg, from 2004 to 2016, when Max preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Susan Lanier of Harlingen, Texas; a son, Jim (Gale) Dean of Ankeny, Iowa; a son-in-law, Jon Coulter of Kewanee; eight grandchildren, Chad Coulter, Ami Lanier-Eckel, Andy (Brandi) Lanier, Trisha (Tim) Bryner, Jonna (Ben) Egan, Patrick (Katie) Dean, Katie (Andy) Lindo and Kelsey (Ryan) Ambrose; 10 great-grandchildren; and five brothers and sisters, William (Pat) Jackson, Richard (Louise) Jackson, Robert (Laura) Jackson, Sandra (Neil) Bitting and Joan (David) Nelson.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Coulter; a sister, Ruth (Marvin) Buckman; and a brother, Danny Jackson.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at the Hampshire Colony Congregational Church in Princeton with Pastor David Barnes officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton.

Memorials can be made to the Hampshire Colony Congregational Church or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
