Princeton community members turned out May 19 to participate in the creative process for mosaic art that will be installed in the Mary Uthoff Memorial Walkway on South Main Street next to Fawcett’s Pharmacy. Mosaic artist Susan Burton was on hand to lead the workshop, where attendees created about 75 small mosaic hearts, flowers and birds to be incorporated into the walkway space. The public art pieces will include a sofa, two chairs and a table designed and created by Burton. The public art installation is a collaboration between the Princeton Public Arts Commission and North Central Illinois Artworks. Jyl Morse, of Hoffman’s Patterns of the Past, supplied the china used for the project.
