CHERRY — The State Bank of Cherry and Cherry Bancorp President and CEO Dan Wujek announced the election of Daryl Sondgeroth to its board of directors.
Sondgeroth is a lifelong farmer and businessman who fills a specific objective in deepening the bank’s commitment to agriculture and small business.
“The State Bank of Cherry will benefit from having Daryl share his knowledge and expertise with us regarding business and banking,” Wujek said. “With the addition of Daryl to the board, we affirm and deepen our commitment to agriculture and the agriculture industry.”
In addition to his farming operation, Sondgeroth is also involved in a number of other enterprises, including a custom farming and crop spraying business, a tiling and backhoe business, and a trucking partnership with his brother.
“It has been one of my greatest joys to have been able to farm with my father, and now my own sons,” Sondgeroth said.
“These various operations have been made stronger by working together as a family. I intend to work with the good people involved with the bank to serve our customers and increase shareholder value,” he said.
Sondgeroth has leadership roles as an 18-year trustee of the Mendota-Troy Grove Fire District and as a director of the Mendota Mutual Insurance Co. for the past 16 years.
According to Wujek: “The State Bank of Cherry seeks tailor-made solutions. The bank offers a full array of products, including USDA mortgages, fixed-rate home mortgages and Down Payment Assistance Grants. We offer all of the electronic conveniences you expect, along with competitively priced products. Our mission is to treat people the way we would want to be treated.”
