Chicken dinner in Walnut
WALNUT — Walnut American Legion Post 179 will host a chicken dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14. The meal is $8 per person and comes with fries, coleslaw and baked beans.
Fall play at PHS
PRINCETON — The Princeton High School Theater Department will present its fall play, “Death and Taxes” by Pat Cook, at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, in the Sally Skinner Auditorium. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Princeton High School students will get in free with their student IDs. Doors to the auditorium will open 30 minutes before the show. “Death and Taxes” is produced by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock.
Trivia Night in Ladd
LADD — The Ladd Public Library District will host a Trivia Night on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Ladd Community Center, 303 S. Central Ave. in Ladd. Door will open at 6 p.m., and trivia will start at 7 p.m. The cost is $100 per table, with a maximum of 10 people per table. The event will also include food, drinks and raffles. Support in this event helps keep the library doors open to serve the community.
Seminar in Sheffield
SHEFFIELD — Cornerstone in Sheffield will host a two-hour seminar from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21. For those grieving the death of a loved one, the holidays can be a difficult time. The seminar will provide practical holiday coping strategies and hope for brighter days ahead. The cost for materials is $5. Blood drive in Ohio
OHIO — An American Red Cross blood drive will be held in the Ohio High School gym from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18. For appointments, call the school at 815-376-4414. A photo ID or blood donor card, or two other forms of ID, are required. The school is located at 103 Memorial in Ohio. The blood drive is sponsored by the Ohio High School National Honor Society and Student Council.
Annual cookie walk
SPRING VALLEY — The United Church of Christ (Congregational), located at Erie and Power streets in Spring Valley, will have its traditional cookie walk from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. A variety of holiday cookies and candies will be offered in a select-your-own style at a cost of $7 per pound. Homemade peanut brittle will also be sold for $7 per bag. LAMOILLE — The LaMoille Lions Club’s veterans breakfast will be from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Lions Club, 308 Howard St. This all-you-can-eat breakfast will include pancakes, eggs, sausage, ham, toast, milk, juice and coffee. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for ages 5 to 10 and free for 4 and under. There will also be a bake sale. All proceeds will support the LaMoille Lions Club.
