BUDA — Ressie Marie Copple, 91, of Buda passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at Liberty Village in Princeton.
She was born Jan. 22, 1928, in Henry County, the daughter of James Robert and MaryJane (Charleton) Watson. Ressie married Elbert "Pete" Lee Copple in Kewanee on April 5, 1947. He preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1996.
Ressie retired from Morris Foundation in Buda on Dec. 30, 1998. She was a former member of Buda United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Vickie (Wayne) Washkowiak of Peru and Jill Marie (K.C.) Syring of Clarence, Iowa; four grandchildren, Michael Tumbleson of Kewanee, Dawn "Shelley" Michelle (Tim) Schneid of Princeton, Debra Jensen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Glenn (Caitlin) Jensen of Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Alexander Tumbleson, Lee Jensen and Jack Jensen; two sisters, Donna Carter and Linda Frantzen; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Jack, Don and Carl Watson; and five sisters, Virginia Schouske, Shirley Anderson, Mary Louise Johnson, Eula Lindsey and Mary Lindbeck.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Laura Root-Tanner officiating. Burial will take place at Hopeland Cemetery in Buda.
