Melvina Lewis of Princeton will celebrate her 90th birthday on June 7.
An open house is being planned for 1 to 4 p.m. June 7 at the First United Methodist Church in Princeton. If the church is unable to be open, family and friends are invited to drive by her home and wish Melvina a happy birthday.
Melvina has been a Princeton resident for more than 70 years. She previously lived in Wheatland Township and attended Lonetree school and Tiskilwa schools. She graduated from Princeton High School with the Class of 1948.
Melvina worked at Landahl’s for many years. After retirement, she was a Foster Grandparent at Jefferson School for 13 years in Mrs. Isaacson’s first-grade classroom. Melvina still volunteers at the Tiskilwa Historical Society.
