PRINCETON — One of Princeton’s premier summer events, the Z Tour Bike ride, is the latest COVID-19 casualty.

Organizers of the ride announced Friday that after careful deliberation, they have canceled the event and will resume it in June 2021. The ride, which has routes ranging from 10 to 100 miles through scenic Bureau County, has been a consistent fundraiser for the Zearing Child Enrichment Center, providing security and other upgrades worth tens of thousands of dollars. The steering committee still is encouraging riders to visit and enjoy riding, but rather on an individual basis to avoid large crowds.

Preregistered participants can contact organizers for a full, no questions asked refund, they may consider the cost a donation to the organization, or they may use it toward a “super early bird” signup for next year’s ride.
