Police cited the driver
A 37-year-old Marionette Park truck driver told Illinois State Police he lost control Monday while negotiating the exit ramp from Interstate 80 onto Route 251 in Peru.
His truck tractor, towing two semi-trailers wound up in the Red Lobster parking lot shortly after 10:30 a.m.
The driver, Jeremiah J. Spano, left the roadway in his truck, entered the right ditch, and then struck a light pole and guardrail, according to state troopers. The truck came to rest upright in the ditch. A passenger was in his vehicle.
There were no injuries reported. All interstate lanes remained open during the traffic crash investigation.
Spano was cited on a complaint of improper lane usage.
