Princeton police investigate woman's death

PRINCETON — Princeton police are investigating the death of a 20-year-old Princeton woman.

On Tuesday, Bureau County Coroner Janice Wamhoff said Calista Hall was found dead Wednesday, July 22, in a Princeton apartment.

In a news release, Princeton police stated at approximately 10 a.m. July 22 they, along with Princeton EMS, were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of East Columbus Street for a report of a possibly deceased person. Upon arrival, police and fire personnel confirmed the report.

The Bureau County Coroner was contacted and responded to the scene to initiate an investigation. The identity of the victim was withheld up to this point while Princeton police conducted an investigation into the circumstances leading up to, and subsequent to, the woman's death.

Princeton police said they have no further comment on the incident other than there is an ongoing investigation. Police have not yet determined whether there are suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. An autopsy was conducted Monday.
