PRINCETON — The Optimist Club of Princeton will host a Halloween scavenger hunt for children and their families on Saturday, Oct. 31, at Zearing Park in Princeton. The annual children’s costume parade and contest and annual pumpkin races are canceled this year in order to comply with safety guidelines concerning COVID-19.
Children 5 and under are invited to Zearing Park from 10 to 11:30 a.m. for a kid-friendly Halloween scavenger hunt. The children will look for a variety of Halloween items in the park and receive a bag of candy as their prize. Children are urged to wear costumes and must be accompanied by an adult. Participants may come any time from 10 to 11:30 a.m. to participate. All current guidelines concerning masks and social distancing will be followed.
Children ages 6 to 10 are invited to Zearing from 1 to 2:30 p.m. that day for a more challenging scavenger hunt. They will follow clues to find their prize and may come anytime between 1 and 2:30 p.m. to participate. They will also receive a bag of candy upon completion. All participants are urged to wear costumes. All children must be accompanied by an adult and follow guidelines concerning masks and social distancing.
