Winnebago County’s Health Department issued 13 closure notices this week to businesses failing to follow COVID-19 mitigation guidelines put in by the state.

The 13 businesses are: The Filling Station, Opsahal’s Tavern, and RBI’s in Rockford; Spring Garden Restaurant, Casey’s Pub, Potato Shak, Rascal’s Bar and Grill and Waffle Shop in Loves Park; Neli’s Family Restaurant, Nora’s Place and JJ Tavern in South Beloit; and Firehouse Pub and Ace Hardware in Roscoe.

The Winnebago County Health Department’s violation lists this for the 13 businesses:

“A reasonable belief exists that the premises identified in this Order has engaged or is suspected of engaging in a significant amount of activity likely to spread the following dangerously contagious or infectious disease: COVID-19.”

For those 13 businesses, it is the third violation during the month of October, which triggered the closure notice.

The county’s health department also said establishments that have had the action or closure lifted and have demonstrated compliance for 30 days are removed from the list.
